Fr. 831 $50 1914 St. Louis
Grade: PMG AU 50
This St. Louis $50 was the only district to issue this high denomination and currently this appears to be the 54th reported and it is from the Herman Halpern Collection. Stack's March 1993 graded this a 63 and why PMG called it a 50 is beyond me. History says William Philpott (Mr. Phil) had most of these and may have touched this along the way. Wonderful low serial #H649A with excellent color, body and centering. Finding better will be difficult at best.
